Our Community
Welcome to Hampton County!
Home to a friendly, rural, and quaint community that embraces you with southern hospitality and open arms, Hampton County is a traditional model of southern living. It is also a place where the charm of South Carolina gleams from ear to ear on the faces of everyone you meet. History and tradition are appreciated in the farming and small community lifestyles, plantation and antebellum style homes, historic cemeteries and churches, which can all be found throughout the county.
Hampton County is located at the heart of the Lowcountry region of South Carolina. Conveniently located 75 miles west of Charleston and 60 miles northwest of Hilton Head, our location is ideal for enjoying the excitement of the Atlantic Ocean without great traveling expense; destinations such as Hilton Head can be relished without going far from home. However, no travel is necessary to enjoy the various places located conveniently within the county, such as the Hampton County Historical Museum, Lake Warren State Park, and the Palmetto Theater.
